I have not read such a intricate and multi-faceted book like this one in quite some time- it simply blew my mind away. It is strongly based on the story of Bluebeard, and can described as a tangled net of short stories in which there is a 21-st century version of Bluebeard, played as a story-inventing game between Mary Foxe and the writer St. John Fox. The stories seem unrelated at first, with an additional, linked theme of foxes, but in the end they all fit together, and create some sort of sense.
